Cambridge in rain

I have spent the Saturday in Cambridge visiting my colleague and friend Michelle. It has been a lovely day but it has been raining constantly and I then mean constantly. Michelle says that whether in Cambridge is much nicer and less rainy then in London but I am not sure that I believe her...

We started by walking around in Cambridge to see the different colleges and Michelle described the system with the University and the colleges. It was quite complicated and I am not sure that I really got it so I will not describe it here. Cambridge was really lovely, I can strongly recommend a visit.

After the walk we decided to have lunch at a place called Brown. It was busy and we were asked to wait in the bar until number 12 came up on a screen. We had a glass of champagne each, a tradition we have developed and are considering to stick to. We could not see the screen they had pointed at but I saw two others and concentrated hardly on not missing number 12. Michelle laughed at me because of my concentration on the task and the fact that I reacted quite a lot every time a new number came up. It took quite some time before number 12 appeared but when it did we asked for our table. It turned out that I had been looking at the wrong screens, they were signals to the kitchen and our table had been announced a long time ago. By our name it said NO SHOW. So much for being concentrated on your task...

Well well, the salad (with chicken and bacon and avocado) was really good and Michelle seemed happy with here ravioli. It wasn't Gordon Ramsay but I can not compare the food I have from now on with his' because then I will live the rest of my life disappointed.

After lunch we continued our walk in the town in the rain and I could continue see how pretty it is. We visited a shop that Michelle has told me about that sells cloths and accessories and I bought myself a top.

By now we were really wet so we went to Michelle's house (she has her own house and it is really nice, I am very impressed!) for hot chocolate and chocolate. Michelle kindly drove me to the train station and I took the train back to London. I got on a very slow train that stopped very every often. It took almost one and a half hour to get back but I read Harry Potter so that was absolutely fine. As a comparison there are trains that only take 45 minutes.

Now I am back on the sofa a watch football, they are summarising today's games I think. I am going to Manchester to see Manchester City - Arsenal in two weeks with Axel so I want to improve my knowledge around English football a bit.

I write in English today so Michelle can read and understand. I promise I will write in Swedish again tomorrow.
